The LAM museum’s collection includes 3D images, art installations, paintings, sound art and digital art. That sounds like a lot (it is!). But there’s method in the madness: each work focuses on food, drink or shopping. Did we mention the LAM museum has the world’s largest collection of food art?
Experience works by Yinka Shonibare, Kathleen Ryan, Itamar Gilboa, Raquel van Haver, Ron Mueck, Susan Philipsz, Michael Raedecker, Folkert de Jong, Do Ho Suh and many more. Some artists are famous, others emerging. But each one will change your perspective on the things you come across every day.
All that’s left on this almost three-metre vine by Kathleen Ryan (1984) are mouldy, wrinkled grapes. Like other works by Ryan, this one is made of precious gemstones and beads. One of her earlier works — a rotting lemon — turned heads and stomachs at the Art Basel Miami, Paris FIAC and Frieze London. Her work is as repulsive as it is attractive. The LAM is the only museum to feature work by New York-based Kathleen Ryan in its collection.
The LAM museum is all about the unexpected. You won’t find any work uninspiringly mounted on walls or plinths. Once you enter the museum, art is all around you.

They say everyone has a soulmate, someone with whom you have a deep connection. We think art also has the power to connect. Our connections not only run deep but also taste great.
