The LAM museum is nestled amidst the greenery of Keukenhof Estate, just a stone’s throw away from the romantic Keukenhof Castle. In honor of the old, architect Arie Korbee designed a modern building. The two styles are so different that they complement each other.

The colours of the bricks are based on the autumn leaves of the estate. Especially in the fall, when the leaves turn reddish-brown, the building forms a beautiful picture with nature. The bricks were specially made for us in Denmark. If you look closely, you’ll discover the thumbprints of the makers. All bricks were handmade.

At the tip of the building, you have a direct view of Keukenhof Castle. That is, if the trees aren’t in full bloom.

The LAM is a daylight museum with its many windows. Light flows in from outside everywhere. And everywhere you look, you have a view of a piece of the beautiful estate.
